Chris Martin has put pen to paper on a new contract at parent club Derby County

We are pleased to confirm that client Chris Martin has put pen to paper on a new contract at parent club Derby County. Chris is currently on loan at Fulham.

The new deal will run until 2020 and Chris is obviously delighted to commit his future to Derby, “I really am excited and happy to be signing this new contract with Derby County. At the start of this season I was not in the previous manager’s plans, which is a decision that I completely understood and respected. As a result I had the opportunity to move to Fulham on loan, which gave me the chance to play first-team football elsewhere. I am thankful that the board only allowed the move on a temporary basis, because I really didn’t want to leave Derby and my family is settled in the area too. Derby County is a fantastic club with so many things going for it and driven desire to reach the Premier League. I am very happy that the club and the manager see me as part of the long-term future. I am committed to being as successful as I possibly can be with Derby County.”

“Steve McLaren has returned to Derby and having previously worked with Chris, knows first hand what he can offer and this new contract is testament to that…” Alex Levack – Sidekick Management

Alex Levack said “we are all really pleased for Chris who is a committed professional. It’s never nice to be told that you aren’t required at a club but Chris has gone on loan to Fulham and showed consistently what he can do and continue to score and create goals. Steve McLaren has returned to Derby and having previously worked with Chris, knows first hand what he can offer and this new contract is testament to that”.

Samy Morsy signs a new two-and-a-half-year deal at Wigan Athletic

Sidekick Management are pleased to announce that client Sam Morsy has signed a one year contract extension at Wigan Athletic that will keep him at the Championship side until at least 2019.

Sam spent the first half of this season on loan at Barnsley but has started the Latics’ last two games since he was recalled from Oakwell.

“Sam has proven that it is never too late to make your mark at a club.” Matt Kleinman – Sidekick Management

Egypt international Sam was overjoyed to put pen to paper on his new deal. “If I am being honest, six months ago I didn’t think I would ever play for the club again. I had a great time at Barnsley, but as soon as I came back earlier this month, the manager here outlined straight away what he wants, his vision for the club and that’s something I want to be a part of.”

Matt Kleinman was equally delighted for his client “Sam has proven that it is never too late to make your mark at a club. By his own admission things weren’t going great for him at Wigan first time around but he has gone away, worked on his game and this new contract is his reward. These are exciting times for Sam and we wish him every success”.
